Our Story
Riverside Community, Lower Moutere near Motueka, Nelson-Tasman, NZ. Founded 1941 by Christian pacifists; trust 1953; now pluralist/secular. About 200 ha (community says 200; wiki 208). No private houses or cars for members. Shared fund covers health, power, phone; food/travel/education subsidised. ~25 members plus tenants; visitors swell numbers. Dairy, Riverside Milk, hostel, cafe, workshop, cultural centre. First nights on the NZ tour.
