Our Story
RISE is a family-focused residential community for creator families who have chosen to architect their lives rather than inherit them. Set on 400 acres in the mountain valley of Pérez Zeledón, it is the only place where luxury and simplicity, a Waldorf childhood and entrepreneurial ambition, deep community and personal sovereignty all coexist without compromise. School: The RISE Waldorf-Inspired school is the heart of this community. At RISE, the school is the reason. A Waldorf-inspired education surrounded by nature, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking; designed so your children grow up in the environment you always wanted for them. In the Boruka language, the native tribe of this area, Kinkàra means "the beginning" and it is where your journey starts. It is where you can come and stay for a visit, and it is also where we gather for Music Night or family dinner. Kinkàra features earth-to-plate cuisine and is a gathering place on a private 10-acre portion of the property. For families who travel, the on-property airstrip puts San José 25 minutes away. Surrounded by ancient trees and thriving wildlife, it's a beautiful spot with cascading waterfalls and natural swimming holes. Whether it's an early morning hike to the falls or a lazy afternoon cooling off in the water with neighbors, the river is a constant reminder of the incredible ecosystem we get to call home.

Music Night at Kinkàra. Live music under the stars. Experience the magic of our community gatherings around the firepit with residents and visiting artists. When your neighbors are world-class, you don't need to hire anyone to enrich the community. Wellness, fitness, and personal development at RISE are not run by a management company. They come from residents who want to share their talents with the community: a yoga teacher leads morning sessions, a fitness coach runs the club, a breathwork practitioner hosts weekly circles. These are offerings, not obligations. Everything is open to everyone and required of no one. That is the natural result of curating for quality and respecting how each person chooses to spend their time.
