Our Story

Holos is a regenerative sanctuary and residential community on 200+ acres of stewarded jungle in Costa Rica’s Diamante Valley, on a ridge overlooking Diamante Falls (the tallest waterfall in the country). Founder Ian-Michael Hébert’s question — “What would the world look like if we created from a place of already being whole?” — sits behind a retreat center, eco-luxury stays, a service/volunteer program, and home sites for people who want to root in the valley. The land was assembled by uniting seven farms. Published site stats: 120+ retreats held, 6,000+ trees planted, 7+ waterfall pools, honeycomb-inspired bamboo structures, and working community water and food systems. Guests and residents use trails, waterfall pools, the Aire Shala temple (open-air movement space), farm-to-table food, and holistic practitioners. Nightly “nest” glamping and houses such as El Nido, The Oasis, Casa Morpho, and Casa Quetzal are offered when open. Residential path: request the Diamante lot kit, apply, discovery call, then purchase a home site. Construction is quoted at about $120–200 per sq ft (hardwood, concrete, rammed earth, steel, bamboo). Water and power are brought to lots; each home is on its own septic. Informal HOA dues are about $500/month per lot; Holos says governance of shared spaces transfers to a resident HOA in 2027. A CSA-style organic farm share, rental-management for owners, coworking, and hospitality from the retreat center are part of the residential offer. Future Holos nodes are described for British Columbia and Boulder, Colorado; this row is the Costa Rica flagship only. Visitors are welcome for day visits, overnight stays, hosted retreats, and events. Service program: 3-month Exploration or 6-month Leadership, 20 hours/week, $100/month (refundable with 30 days’ notice), housing on land, meals not included. Holos Global partners with the Holos Foundation, a US 501(c)(3), for retreat scholarships, indigenous reciprocity, and ecological restoration. This is a buy-in / lot community plus retreat campus — not a single shared-income commune.
